While brand-new things are nice to have (unless they are, you know, defective), there’s a different value in objects that have somehow remained functional after all these years.

Reality check: Not every consumer product can withstand the test of time. Thus, if you can pinpoint brands with a great track record in terms of long-lasting goods, you’ll save yourself all that spending on replacements.
