About Accent Advisor
Founded in 2017, Accent Advisor is an American accent training and pronunciation school helping students from around the world speak with a neutral American accent.
The company has over 90 tutors working primarily with students and expatriates who live in the United States. Since this is an online platform, they also teach students from countries across the globe.
What does the job entail?
Accent Advisor is looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
- Native English speaker from the United States or Canada
- Bachelor’s degree in English/TEFL certificate or vocal degree, courses, or certification
- A minimum of two years of pronunciation or accent teaching experience
- Clear speech free of accents
- Ability to teach the standard American accent
As for technical requirements, you must have a computer, laptop, or tablet; a secure and stable internet connection; and Skype (for video calls for the classes).
Your chances of getting hired increase if you can mimic foreign accents such as Chinese and Russian.
Keep in mind that this is not like most English teaching jobs. Your students know the English language, and they simply want to get rid of the foreign accent so they can speak with confidence.

While classes are available 24/7, peak hours are from 7 a.m. to midnight EST. Each class is 25 minutes long and conducted one-on-one via Skype. The minimum number of working hours per week is 15, and the maximum is 40.
The starting pay is $15 per hour and can go up to $25 depending on the hours you have put in since you started working. You are guaranteed $1 for every 500 hours worked until you reach the limit of $25. This means that you can make about $4,000 monthly. Not bad for teaching someone to speak with a proper American accent, right?
